A leading performance marketing agency is seeking a Director, Client Partner to serve as the senior strategic lead on a national brand's first major brand awareness campaign. The overarching strategy is already in place, and the team is moving into media inventory planning, activation, and optimization. This person will be the strategic voice of the agency with a highly sophisticated client, pressure-testing media recommendations, guiding brand measurement, and turning performance insights into clear business decisions. This is a client leadership and advisory role, not a hands-on media buying or campaign execution position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary strategic client partner, leading senior-level conversations and recommendations across brand strategy, integrated media, and campaign performance
  • Oversee the launch of a major brand awareness campaign, keeping strategy, media inventory, activation, and measurement aligned
  • Partner with internal media teams to evaluate inventory, channel recommendations, and investment allocations across TV, CTV, digital video, audio, and other awareness channels
  • Pressure-test TV and audio recommendations to improve placements, audience reach, frequency, efficiency, and overall effectiveness
  • Oversee brand measurement strategy, including brand lift, awareness, consideration, reach/frequency, and incrementality
  • Work closely with Analytics, Media, Strategy, and Creative teams to evaluate performance and identify optimization opportunities
  • Translate complex media and measurement insights into clear, actionable recommendations and compelling narratives for senior stakeholders
  • Lead client meetings, campaign reviews, and strategic discussions grounded in data and business objectives
  • Anticipate client questions, challenge assumptions, and proactively bring forward solutions
  • Connect upper-funnel brand investment to broader business outcomes and long-term growth
  • Maintain trusted executive-level client relationships and confidence in the agency's recommendations

Required Experience

  • 10 years of experience in integrated media, brand strategy, client leadership, or performance marketing, ideally within a media or performance marketing agency
  • Strong background in brand awareness campaigns and upper-funnel media strategy for national consumer-facing brands
  • Proven experience leading strategic client relationships and presenting to sophisticated, senior-level stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of TV, CTV, digital video, and audio advertising and how these channels drive brand-building objectives
  • Ability to evaluate and challenge media plans, inventory recommendations, channel allocations, and optimization strategies
  • Experience with brand measurement methodologies, including brand lift studies, reach/frequency, and incrementality, and measuring success beyond ROAS and CPA
  • Experience translating complex data and media insights into strategic recommendations
  • Ability to guide cross-functional teams and influence decisions without executing campaigns in-platform
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • BA/BS degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a major media or performance marketing agency managing complex, cross-functional client relationships
  • Cross-channel literacy across Search, Social, Commerce/Retail Media, CRM, and Creative
  • Familiarity with MMM, forecasting, and scenario modeling tools
  • Retail or performance marketing client experience with a track record of driving measurable growth
  • People leadership experience coaching and developing client teams
