We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, and hardworking Kennel Assistant to join our small animal veterinary practice. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with animals and wants to be part of a supportive veterinary team.ResponsibilitiesProvide attentive and compassionate care to dogs and catsSafely handle and move animals throughout the hospitalFeed and provide fresh water according to patient instructionsWalk dogs and provide appropriate exercise and bathroom breaksClean and disinfect kennels, runs, cages, and other patient areasMaintain a clean, organized, and sanitary hospital environmentAssist with bathing and basic grooming as neededMonitor animals for changes in behavior, appetite, or overall condition and report concerns to the veterinary teamAssist veterinary assistants, technicians, and doctors with general hospital duties as neededProperly dispose of waste and maintain appropriate sanitation protocolsStock supplies and help keep treatment and kennel areas organizedFollow all animal-handling and safety proceduresPerform other duties as needed to support the veterinary teamQualificationsPrevious animal care, kennel, boarding, shelter, or veterinary experience is a plus but not requiredComfortable working with dogs and cats of different sizes, breeds, and temperamentsAble to safely handle animals and follow instructionsReliable and punctualHardworking and willing to perform cleaning and physical tasks throughout the dayAble to work independently as well as part of a teamCompassionate and patient with animalsStrong attention to cleanliness and detailComfortable working in a fast-paced environmentWhat We OfferHands-on experience working with animals in a veterinary settingTraining provided to help you learn proper animal care and handlingOpportunity to work alongside veterinarians, technicians, and veterinary assistantsA supportive team environmentValuable experience for individuals interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, animal care, or related fieldsIf you are dependable, love animals, and are ready to work hard while learning valuable skills, we would love to hear from you!
